to install GroupWise on. This server must be in the same tree as FAXserve server.

View: FAXserve Administrator
Definition: Choose the GroupWise domain directory that was created when you first
installed GroupWise.
You should see the same directories as shown above when you choose the GroupWise domain.
View: Window's Explorer View of the GroupWise Server
Definition: The GroupWise domain will be found under the GroupWise Server. In this
case we called our GroupWise Domain Gwd.
Notice the directories are the same as the above view.

Definition: This is the next step after you choose ok in selecting the GroupWise
domain will be selecting the gateway directory for FAXserve.
This is the actual gateway directory where FAXserve will handle the faxes that are sent
through FAXserve.
We recommend going with the default in naming this directory.
The default is FAXserve.
Wpgate is the name of the GroupWise directory where the FAXserve
gateway directory will be stored. This directory will house all the
other gateways that the client might have and use with GroupWise.

View: FAXserve Administrator
Definition: This shows that the FAXserve files are being copied to the GroupWise
server. Below you can see where they are stored or copied.
View: Window's Explorer View of the GroupWise Server
Definition: The FAXserve gateway directory that you have created is located under
the GroupWise wpgate directory. Under the wpgate directory you will find the FAXserve
gateway directory.
Verification: Verify the directory structure
for data store is created by FAXserve Gateway. Following shows the default directory
structure:
DOMAIN\WPGATE\FAXSERVE

Here is where you will find the address book for the email system of GroupWise. The
directory-store consists of the WPDOMAIN.DB. This will be found in the wpgate directory
itself. In GroupWise 5.2 this directory is built through NDS.
View: FAXserve Administrator
Definition: Once the gateway agent has been installed. The activate email services
screen comes up. This is a final confirmation of your installation of FAXserve and
GroupWise. Nothing should be changed or touched here.
The activate email fax service box is checked by default here.

Definition: This is the final screen view for the installation of the gateway
agent. This provides you with directions to create the nds objects.

View: Nw Admin3x.exe
Definition: Here you want to find the GroupWise domain container. Highlight the
container and then highlight create. Right click on creates. This will enable you to
create the FAXserve gateway objects.
This nwadmin view can be obtained by looking in your public directory of your public
directory. If you desire the NT view it is located in the public\winNT directory.
If you are using NT workstation this will be NWadmnNT.exe. The client should also be using
the GroupWise view.
If you can not view the GroupWise admin view they did install the GroupWise admin agent.
View: Nw Admin3x.exe or NwadmnNT.exe
Definition: Here you select the GroupWise Gateway/ internet agent.
This gateway is a SMTP gateway which provides e-mail exchange on a TCP/IP or Unix system.
This gateway translates GroupWise messages using a SMTP protocol. FAXserve uses this
gateway as a pass through gateway to get to the FAXserve server. This gateway is loaded
when you type in the load gwfaxsnd.nlm.
This is one of the nlms that act as a gateway for FAXserve. This nlm allows GroupWise
emails to pass through to FAXserve if the email is a dcx, ascii or pcx files. SMTP
protocol will convert the email from the ascii format is not supported by SMTP format.
There the MiME and Unicode format will convert or decode the binary files. Therefore we
must convert the file to mime format first.
View: Nw Admin3x.exe or NwadmnNT.exe
Definition: Here is where you begin constructing your FAXserve nds objects. We
recommend that you go with the name of FAXserve when selecting the gateway name. Choose
FAXserve for gateway name. The version should be .4x for backward compatibility purposes.
The platform should be NetWare Loadable module. The gateway type should be Fax/Print.
View: NW Admin3x.exe or NwadmnNT.exe
Definition: These are the agents that the client should see after creating the nds
objects.
Now you are ready to load the Gateway ????????
Loading / Unloading Consideration
1. To Load FAXserve Gateway type "FSGATE "on the server Console.
2. Loading FAXserve Gateway NLM will not require any licensed Connection on the NetWare
server
3. Before loading the FAXserve Gateway NLM GroupWise Message Server (MTA) must be loaded
and Gateways must be opened if you see the Gateway is closed press F6 on GroupWise 5 MTA
screen to reinitialize the gateway. Without the MTA FAXGWSRV.nlm will fail to load.
4. FAXserve Gateway NLM will check for valid FAXserve Gateway license on the FAXserve Host
before it can be loaded.
5. FAXserve Evaluation version only requires a Evaluation license and the FAXserve Gateway
Nlm will only check for Evaluation License.
6. GroupWise supports direct access to Mailboxes by way of drive mapping and logins to
servers it also supports client/server access to Mailboxes by way of TCP/IP. Both Direct
and client/Server must be tested with FAXserve GroupWise Gateway.
8. Time setting options. When you are creating a fax gateway, verify that your time zone
is correct.
9. Unloading FAXserve Gateway while the gateway is processing an envelope should not
effect the control files (*.CTL) and its attachments in FAXserve data store.
10. Press F7 on the GroupWise FAXserve agent screen to unload the FAXserve gateway NLMS,
verify both gwfax.nlm and faxgwsrv.nlm is unloaded.
11. Type unload GWFAX.NLM on the console screen both GWFAX.NLM and FAXGWSRV.NLM must be
unloaded.
View: RCONSOLE (FAXserve server console)
Definition: Here you will see the gwfaxsnd.nlm after it is manually loaded from the
server.
Notice that you can tell service pack had been loaded here.
GroupWise Gateway Removal Process:
1. Delete the data store directories and files if default values is used data store is
located DOMAIN\WPGATE\FAXSERVE
2. Due to the nature of FAXserve's GroupWise Fax Gateway, the gateway cannot be removed by
FAXserve's Setup program. However, FAXserve's GroupWise Fax Gateway can be removed using
Novell's NWADMN3X.EXE or GroupWise's AD.EXE programs.
3. From system directory delete the GWFAX.NLM, FAXGWSRV.NLM and FSGATE.NCF
4. From public directory delete FSGATE.ini
GroupWise Addressing Consideration:
1. The FAXserve GroupWise Fax Gateway currently does not support Novell's Fax Gateway
addressing schemes. (i.e. john doe @ widget.com {RES=F...} ). FAXserve's GroupWise Fax
Gateway will ignore the information between curly braces ('{' '}').
2. The FAXserve GroupWise Fax Gateway supports the following addressing syntax:
Domain.Gateway:Name@ FAX Number ---------- gw5.fax:Tech@5164655115
Domain.Gateway: "Name"@FAX Number ---------- gw5.fax:"Cheyenne Tech
Support"@5164655115
Domain.Gateway: Name @"Fax Number" --------- gw5.fax:Tech@
"9,5164655115"
If the following address formats are used, there will be no recipient name in the FAX
cover page, and the To: field will contain the Phone number.
Domain.GateWay:Fax Number------------ gw5.fax:5164655115
Fax Number@Domain.GateWay---------- 5164655115@gw5.fax
3. BitWare client Phone book and GroupWise Phone book are not in the same format, thus
BitWare client phone can not be integrated to GroupWise Phone book.
4. Setup the addressing rules to delete all return messages from FAXserve Gateway with
subject the FAX: Successful
5. Send FAX to a group which contains 64 Members (Phone numbers), FAXserve GATEWAY should
create only one control file and Rendering agent will submit the fax to 64 phone numbers.
Verify all 64 faxes were received. Failure Rate must be less than 5%.
6. Send FAX to a Group which contains More than 65 members, FAXserve Gateway should create
tow control files (*.CTL), Make sure you do this test with attachments.
7. Send Fax to a Group Of 200 members and check to make sure all faxes received and
failure rate is less than 5%.
8. Setup and External Foreign Domain and link it to GW domain Via FAXserve Gateway uses
the FAX: Phone number format to address the FAXserve Gateway.
